The interview process starts with a phone interview. We want to know more about you and “Why AquaTech?” We love answering questions so ask away!

 
 

If the initial interview goes well, you’ll be invited in to meet the team for on-site interviews. You’ll meet a lineup of managers and answer more in-depth questions related to the job.

 
If an offer is made, a full training course will be designed for you to on-board and learn all of the important policies, processes and procedures for your job role and the company overall.

FAQs

We are always on the hunt for wonderful people to join our team of staff and when we find one, we move quickly! Generally speaking, if we want you onboard, you will receive our next steps pre-offer email either in the same day as your interview or within the next day or two. 

That depends on you! We have a few steps to take once a pre-offer has been made. The pre-offer includes a training schedule, regular schedule and pay rate that we can offer at the time. After a pre-offer is agreed upon, we move on into a professional reference check and a background check. After these have been passed with flying colors, a formal offer is made and we can start ASAP! 

Each position offers its own unique training course that is built based on our standard training items and your availability. We do our best to schedule the right amount of training given the schedule you provide us to work with! While we will train you to do the job you were hired for, lots of learning takes place over the first 90 days of employment and we work with you to ensure you are on the right track and feeling confident!

Yes! There is no training rate either – you will receive your regular rate while you learn how to do your job!

The amount of hours per week is determined by the position and your availability. Please be sure to let your interviewer know how many hours per week you are interested in on a regular basis!

AquaTech Swim opened in Alameda in April 2007 in a rented facility. We saved, bought and built our current Alameda facility which opened in February 2014. Between that time, we opened our Concord facility in September 2010.

Always! Given the right opportunity, AquaTech is always looking to grow and expand our service reach!

Uniform shirts and/or rash guards will be given to wear during working hours. We require black athletic bottoms to be worn with the uniform shirt.

We require all staff (with the exception of our call center staff) to be CPR certified within the first 90-days of employment. Certifications are the applicant’s responsibility to obtain and maintain. 

AquaTech pool environments are indoor, warm water facilities. The pools are 4 foot in depth and the water temperature is kept between 88-90 degrees.

Average workday…what is that?! We are a fast paced, ever-changing environment where there is always something new and unexpected things occurring each day…It is never boring! Each position comes with different responsibilities and tasks to complete, be sure to discuss them with your interviewer! If you can handle change well and handle it with a smile, this is the environment for you!

Ironically, no, you do not need to know how to swim! Our motto is: We hire character and train skill! If you love working with children and families to build confidence and achieve goals, if you are reliable, honest, hardworking, then we can teach you all the rest! Become a great swimmer AND a great teacher all in one shot!

Absolutely! Most of our managers and even some of the senior management staff started as part time staff members in one department or another. You determine how high you rise! There are many positions to learn many different skills that all build upon each other, making you more valuable in the company! Be open and honest with your management team, follow policy and procedure and there is great opportunity available!
