At AquaTech Swim we have always made member health and safety a priority. In support of Federal, State and County mandates, we pride our COVID-19 preparedness which includes all staff wearing masks or shields, improvements in disinfection processes with Ultraviolet (UV) Cleaning Wands, increased disinfection regime and the installation of Ultraviolet (UV) Light Systems within our air ducts so that the air within each facility is scrubbed before it enters the facility. We have always used UV systems to disinfect our chlorinated pool water. We also have installed hospital / ICU grade "negative air" systems so that air is pulled out of each zone within the building.

Per the CDC Coronavirus FAQ Page:

“There is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, or water playgrounds. Additionally, proper operation of these aquatic venues and disinfection of the water (with chlorine or bromine) should inactivate the virus.”

+ REDUCED CLASS SIZES: Class sizes have been reduced to the following student numbers:

  • Tadpole Level (Parent Participation): Student maximum of 4
  • Starfish Level: Student maximum of 3
  • Seahorse Level through Tech Level: Student maximum of 4
  • Pre-Competitive Level: Student maximum of 12

+ CLASS POD DISTANCING:  Instruction lanes have been spaced apart from each other so that classes in lanes next to each other begin and run from opposite sides of the pool.

+ REDUCED NUMBER OF INSTRUCTORS: AquaTech has reduced the number of instructors during operational hours to decrease the total number of occupants in the building at one time.

+ REDUCED STUDENT CROSS-OVER: In an effort to avoid crossover of swimmers as much as possible, we will not allow the  scheduling of makeup lessons until October 1, 2020. Customers registered for lessons prior to October 1, 2020 will still be able to report absences and accrue makeup tokens, however, will not be able to schedule them until October 2020. Exception: Makeup tokens can be used in place of payment for AquaRec / AquaBaby reservations.

  • Negative Pressure ‘Inflow’ Systems (Advantages) – AquaTech uses air systems that hospitals utilize for Infectious Patient Isolation. Inflow is a tried-and-true, proven isolation technique for which the goal is to ensure that any breach in the containment barrier will cause ‘clean’ air from surrounding spaces to flow in, as opposed to allowing ‘dirty’ air from the contaminated area to escape. In accordance with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Guidelines, this method has been used for decades by environmental remediation companies for effective containment and control of hazardous indoor air contaminants.
  • Ultraviolet Light (UV) Lamp Air Scrubber Solution – In addition to managing negative airflow we now added 11 UV lamps to our air duct systems. This will remove or destroy up to 99% of all surface and airborne contaminants. Protects people from dangerous contaminants and pollutants.

  • Ultraviolet Light (UV) Surface Cleaning Wands – AquaTech uses the UV light wand to clean commonly used surfaces with 100% ozone free and chemical free. Each wand is powered by 20 x UVC LED, disinfects and eliminates up to 99.9% of germs, viruses and bacteria. No water or chemicals needed.
  • Staff Cleaning Rounds – Our staff follows a strict cleaning protocol, with extra cleaning rounds between transitions and utilize UV sanitizing wands, as well as, liquid cleaning chemicals, etc.
  • Professional Cleaners – AquaTech utilizes professional cleaning companies to clean both our facilities and pools on a regular basis. The facility is professionally cleaned and sanitized 7 nights a week.

+ Ultraviolet Light (UV) Disinfection Systems – The Best Known Killer of COVID-19 – we use a Quad Reactor Neptune Benson UV System which blasts our water 8-10 times a day! These best of breed UV systems utilize the power of the sun to kill 99.9% of all viruses and bacteria on contact.

+ Water Chemistry – We utilize Chlorine and Muriatic acid, etc. to manage our pool chemistry and meticulously monitor our pool chemistry with the support of Certified Pool Operators.

+ Pool Filtration Systems – AquaTech pools have amazing filtrations systems that are professionally maintained 3+ times per week. These systems filter out oils, chemical bi-products, skin, hair, etc. from the pool.

+ Reverse Osmosis (RO) Filtration – This triple carbon filter RO system essentially turns our pool water into drinking water! Water is constantly filtering though this machine 24/7.

+ PARENT PRE-SCREEN FOR ILLNESS: Responsible adults are asked to ensure a child is not sick or exhibiting signs of sickness on lesson days (fever, chills, cough, loss of smell or taste). Under no circumstances should a child be brought to lessons if the child is sick or showing signs of sickness. Additionally, if the family has been exposed to anyone that has travelled internationally or been closely exposed to a person that has tested positive for Covid-19, we ask that you refrain from lessons for a minimum of 14 days.

+ LIMITED VIEWING: A maximum of 1 spectating adult is allowed to attend swimmer(s) into the facility for lessons. That means a total of 1 adult per family is allowed in the viewing area during lessons. It is advised to leave additional siblings at home when possible. If not possible, it is advised to keep additional siblings close to you at all times.

+ SWIMMER DRESS CODE: All swimmers must both arrive and leave dressed in their swimsuits.
