AquaTech Swim School is owned and operated by a husband and wife team, Adrienne Mattos and Stephen Moore. Together they have created two Bay Area AquaTech Swim School locations while concurrently growing a family of their own.
Adrienne Mattos was a competitive, nationally ranked, All-American swimmer for the University Of California at Berkeley. She competed in the 2000 Olympic Trials and was trained under the first female Olympic coach, Teri McKeever. After retiring from competitive swimming, Adrienne Mattos remained actively involved in swimming by teaching and coaching young swimmers. She also developed a methodology that could be successfully and systematically applied across a variety of ages and abilities. The trademarked “Mattos Method” is part of the foundation of AquaTech Swim School. Adrienne Mattos is the acting CEO of AquaTech Swim School.
Stephen Moore is a successful businessman with a background of working for large corporations and banks as a Technology Project Manager. A graduate of the University of Oregon, Stephen led large scale projects for banking institutions, such as, Wells Fargo, Visa USA, JPMorgan Chase, and Bank Of America. Stephen’s business background, combined with Adrienne’s passion for swimming culminated into what is today AquaTech Swim School. Stephen is the CFO of AquaTech Swim School.
Adrienne and Stephen have three young children and live in the East Bay. They are involved in the day to day operations of the business and strive to continually improve the AquaTech experience.
